  2. HEY THERE. HAVE JUST READ “WIRED FOR SOUND”FROM CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL HOME SWEET HOME. LOVED THIS STORY. I LIVE IN A SMALL COMMUNITY CALLED HOKES BLUFF, ALABAMA AND I ALSO HAVE A SCREENED, GLASSED IN PORCH THAT IS MY REFUGE. MY HUSBAND OF 52 AND HALF YEARS PASSED LAST MAY AND THIS HAS BEEN MY GO TO SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHEN SLEEP DOESN’T COME. LOVE THE STILLNESS OF THE NIGHT AND THE CRICKETS AND FROGS, THE DOGS OFF IN THE DISTANCE AND THE DEERS THAT COME TO MY FEEDER IN MY SIDE YARD. YOUR STORY JUST TOUCHED MY HEART AND I WANTED TO THANK YOU. HAVE A BLESSED DAY. TERESA ST. JOHN

  3. Dear Ms. Jennie,
I love that you obviously love nature so much as to want to help this mama turtle and her babies. I do wonder however if putting a milk crate weighted down with a rock over the nest is going to achieve this, for perhaps she might want/need to get access to the nest? Of course, if some predator was who/what broke the eggs, that’ll keep him out (probably) so i guess it may come down to the question: DOES the mama need access to the tunnel? because if not, the crate will probably be OK with you there to monitor when the babies hatch and need to leave the nest (or might they be able to know to clamber over and through holes in the plastic crate?); otherwise, I’d put the lawn chair back.
